For a text-first reader, though, GoLove.ai is my pick. Those two sliders plus memory shape every reply you get, and nothing else in the table clears that bar.

GoLove PRO for a typer

Why Stars barely matter in text

1 Star buys 1 image, and 5 Stars buy 1 video. Star packs go from about $9.99 for 30 up to $299.99 for 3,000. Think of them as a media budget, not a chat cost. If all you do is type, most of those 100 monthly Stars will sit there unused.

ULTRA only if memory is the point

ULTRA costs about $59.99/month or $359.88/year. For a typer, there's exactly one reason to upgrade, and it's the 8,000-message smart memory. For reference, OurDream's annual figure (about $9.99/month) lines up almost exactly with PRO's.

Lust Level and Response Length: The Two Dials a Typer Needs

Picture it this way. You open a chat from your list and go into Chat Settings. You want a slow build, so Lust Level goes to 2. Response Length goes to 5, because you're after full paragraphs instead of one-liners. Later the mood shifts and you flip both. Without the dials, you're stuck in one register. With them, the scene follows whatever you're in the mood for.

Lust Level 1 to 5

Level 1 keeps things sweet and wholesome, and Level 5 is unfiltered and intense. Because it's set per chat, one character can stay soft while another runs hot. That matters more than it sounds, since nobody wants every companion pitched at the same temperature.

Response Length 1 to 5

For a typer, this is the dial that matters most. Level 1 gives short, snappy replies, which fit texting-style back-and-forth. Level 5 writes rich, immersive replies built for written roleplay.

Reply suggestions, ratings and regenerate

ULTRA's 8,000-message smart memory

Nobody else in this comparison states a message count. For a months-long written roleplay, a number like that can separate a standout story arc from a forgettable loop. Most memory comparisons stop at "yes, it has memory." I think the more useful question is whether you're getting recent-history memory or a tier with a stated message count.

Does memory matter more in text than in voice? Yes. In a written thread, callbacks to earlier details are the only thing giving you a sense of continuity. There's no tone of voice to carry it.

Scenarios for written group roleplay

Scenarios is a group chat with 2 to 10 characters. A "Random" button will write an optional premise for you, and each character answers in her own voice. Tap "Continue" and they keep the scene going between themselves. For a writer who likes ensemble scenes, this is the feature I'd look at second, right after the sliders. You can read the bios before you commit to anything, so you get to choose a character by how she writes.

Where media stays out of your way

• On request only: photos show up when you ask, through the Send Photo media button or a quick-reply chip
• Separate budget: media costs Stars, so it never eats into a typer's subscription
• Discreet: the chat makes no sound, which suits a commute or a shared couch

When you want a break from typing, episodes 1 and 2 of every Series are free. "My AI Girlfriend" is one of them, and after watching you can chat with its cast.

Where the app nudges you toward it

This is where GoLove misses the mark for a pure typer. The app is built around media as much as chat. The generator, the Feed and the Stars counter in the header are always in view, and quick-reply chips like "Send me a sexy video" push the same direction. None of it is a dealbreaker, but it's always there.

Controls, Memory, Price: Re-Reading the Scorecard

Back to the table. On controls, GoLove has two 5-level sliders plus suggested replies, ratings and regenerate, and we couldn't confirm any of those for OurDream. Memory goes GoLove's way as well: history plus progression and a stated 8,000-message ULTRA tier, against OurDream's recent-history memory. Price is a wash, at about $19.99/month either way or about $9.99/month billed annually.

OurDream makes sense if you want chat, image and video generation bundled into one subscription and you only ever use the web. That's a real strength, and for that reader it's a solid bet.

GoLove.ai makes sense if the written conversation is the product. Without the dials, a typer takes whatever reply the model decides to write. With them, you control how long it runs, how heated it gets, and whether she remembers last week. Based on what the spec shows, my confidence in GoLove.ai as the text-only pick is high.

Building your own character takes about a minute from a plain-text description. That puts the bio, and the voice she writes in, in your hands from the very first line.
